Uncrashed: FPV Drone Simulator

Large open maps and a track editor, aimed at freestyle and race training.

Runs onWindowsmacOS

01 Overview

A freestyle and cinematic simulator built around large open maps, an environment and track editor, and a Workshop that now carries over twenty-two thousand community items. Graphics are its most-praised aspect, named in about 18 percent of its reviews, and its published minimum specification is modest.

It exposes the physics rather than hiding it. Gravity, air friction and propeller efficiency are all set directly, with efficiency set against throttle level rather than as a single number, and pilots use them: one reports being able to recreate his own drone in a way he could not elsewhere. Two flight-model generations ship side by side and the developers say you can switch between them seamlessly.

Development has been steady through 2026: a replay system with video capture, LiPo battery simulation with voltage sag, simulated sound propagation, a customisable on-screen display editor and Steam Cloud have all landed since late 2025. Some of its most distinctive content, including a drift-car city map built for chase flying, is documented only in the patch notes.

02 Pros and cons

Pros

  • Graphics are its most-praised aspect, and its published minimum specification is modest
  • Physics parameters are exposed directly rather than hidden, and pilots report using them to match a real drone
  • LiPo battery simulation with voltage sag, optional and off by default
  • Online racing with leaderboards, and a delta time at checkpoints measured against the race leader
  • Environment and track editor, with a Workshop carrying over twenty-two thousand community items
  • Two flight-model generations ship side by side rather than one replacing the other
  • Chase flying against moving vehicles is a distinctive strength pilots return to
  • A one-to-one remake of the 2025 Paris Drone Show race, among the content added since launch
  • Steady development through 2026, including a replay system with video capture and an on-screen display editor

Cons

  • Controller setup is the largest single friction point in its reviews, particularly with gamepads, and no filter settings are exposed, with nothing exporting to a real flight controller
  • Beginner onboarding is genuinely contested: the tutorial is thin and some pilots say it is not the place to learn from zero
  • The reset function is a persistent irritant, often placing the drone where it cannot take off
  • Racing is not where pilots point newcomers; they route serious race practice elsewhere

03 The numbers

01Price
One-off purchase. Released 1 September 2021 and not an Early Access title. Check the store for today's price.
02Physics model
Two generations ship side by side, Physics v1 and v2, and the developers say you can switch between them seamlessly. v2 brought the drone's own 3D model, battery size and HD camera dimensions into the fluid dynamics, and collision size now follows the drone's real dimensions. Maximum drone weight was set to 1,850 g in February 2026.
03Controller support
Any joystick or gamepad Windows recognises, up to 8 axes and 20 buttons, though a radio is the recommendation. Rates: KISS, RaceFlight and QuickRates. No filter settings are exposed and nothing exports to a real flight controller.
04Multiplayer
Online PvP with racing and leaderboards, and a delta time at checkpoints measured against the race leader, which also appears in its head-to-head mode. Luminite do not publish a lobby capacity.
05Track library
An environment and track editor, with over 22,000 community items on its Workshop across every content type. Some of its content is documented only in the patch notes and not on the store page, including a city map with drift car physics built for chase flying, dynamic moving vehicles, and a one-to-one remake of the 2025 Paris Drone Show race.
06Drone customisation
Gravity, air friction and propeller efficiency are set directly, and efficiency is set against throttle level rather than as one number, so what is being adjusted is the relationship rather than a multiplier. LiPo battery simulation with voltage sag is optional and off by default. A replay system records sessions and video can be captured from it.

04 System requirements

Processor
MinIntel Core i5 at 2.6 GHz or better. On a Mac, an Intel Core i5.
RecNone listed for Windows. On a Mac, an M1, which Luminite's own release note treats as a performance figure rather than an architecture floor, so an Intel Mac is not excluded.
Memory
Min4 GB
Rec8 GB
Graphics
MinGTX 770 with 2 GB, a 2013 card. On a Mac, a Radeon Pro 450.
Rec3 GB of video memory, no model named, and no card for macOS.
Disk
Min30 GB on Windows, 15 GB on macOS.
Rec30 GB on Windows, 16 GB on macOS.
Network
BothNone listed at either tier, though the simulator races online.
Windows
7, 8, 10 or 11, 64-bit, DirectX 11, the same list in both tiers. In practice the floor is 10: Steam's client has supported nothing older since January 2024.
macOS
Mojave at minimum, the current release recommended.
